Fruit Cocktail For Your Face??? Well, sort of... The enzymes in fruit are a great way to feed your skin. Here are some "recipes" to try so that you can give yourself spa treatments at home without spending the $$$ it would cost to get a facial. Check out these 5 fruits that will help to keep your skin looking youthful and refreshed!
Banana - Mash the banana with about a tablespoon of honey. Bananas are full of antioxidants and nutrients like Vitamins A, B, C, Magnesium, Potassium and Folate. This is a nourishing and hydrating mask for dry skin.
Avocado - This is a fruit rich in healthy fats and natural oils and very hydrating to dry skin. Peel, seed and mash an avocado. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Apply all over face and neck and leave on for 15 minutes. Then grab some tortilla chips and a friend and scoop it off your face. JUST KIDDING! :-)
Papaya - Rich in enzymes and Vitamin A, papaya is great for helping to eliminate toxins from the skin. Scoop out the seeds and mash the papaya. Mix with a teaspoon of honey.
Tomato - (Yes, it's a fruit) This mask can help tighten and brighten skin. It can also help reduce blemishes and blackheads. Mix tomato pulp with oatmeal to create a paste. Spread over the skin and let dry. When you rinse off, it acts as an exfoliant and will leave your skin glowing.
Strawberries - Rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C, strawberries are great for your skin. Crush 8-10 strawberries into a pulp and mix with 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt.
The list doesn't really end here, there are some more fruits AND vegetables that can be great for nourishing skin treatments.
I would love to hear from you if you have created your own facial recipes!
Until next time,
